Dr Herbert Puchta Training Session - Balancing Reality, Imagination and Fun in ELT with Bubbles - Marrakech
Abstract
Learning a new language can be tricky—especially when everyone shares the same mother tongue. Bubbles, Helbling’s new course specifically written for young Moroccan learners, makes learning English feel natural, exciting and rewarding.
Bubbles combines four powerful strategies: (1) Using English as a real means of communication. (2) Tapping into children’s vivid imaginations. (3) Building a love of reading and boosting thinking skills along the way. And (4): Connecting language to real-world experiences, thus helping children to appreciate their own culture and learn to become curious about others.
Part 1: Bubbles – the concept and philosophy it’s based on, the key features,
a unit walk-through, and lots of practical teaching tips.
Part 2: Combining a coursebook with the use of a reader to develop children’s intensive and extensive reading skills as a basis for life-long learning.
